Eugene Zádor, 2026

The project of recording all of Eugene Zádor’s compositions continues with this ninth volume performed by the Budapest Symphony under the baton of Mariusz Smolij. The recording includes two short orchestral works—Ode to Peace and Miniature Overture, two chamber works—Suite for Woodwind Quintet and Brass Quintet, and two sets of songs. Originally written for voice and piano, The Lonely Wayfarer Song Cycle and Four Selected Songs have been arranged for string orchestra by the conductor.

Since the first volume was recorded more than a dozen years ago, eight more have been made, all performed by the Budapest Symphony conducted by Mariusz Smolij. Almost all of the composer’s works for large orchestra have been represented in the series, as well as chamber music, works for solo instrument, and songs.
